Counsellor
Jaya Motwani is a certified trauma-informed therapist committed to supporting emotional and psychological wellbeing. She works with individuals across life stages, offering a compassionate space for self-exploration, healing, and growth. Drawing on her experience across diverse populations and settings, Jaya helps clients build self-awareness, recognise their strengths, and create meaningful, lasting change, while advocating for more open and informed conversations around mental health.
Therapeutic Approach
Jaya follows an integrative, trauma-informed approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to meet each client’s unique needs. She creates a safe, non-judgemental space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and behavioural patterns with openness and confidence. Combining reflective exploration with practical strategies, Jaya helps individuals build emotional insight, strengthen coping skills, and respond to their experiences with greater acceptance, self-compassion, and intention. Her work is guided by emotional safety, respecting each client’s pace and readiness for change.
Professional Experience
Jaya brings over 7 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and older adults across a wide range of concerns, including trauma, stress, anxiety, self-esteem challenges, depression, behavioural difficulties, and psychosomatic symptoms. She has particular experience working with adolescents navigating self-doubt, low confidence, and emotional challenges. Having worked with culturally diverse populations across multiple settings, Jaya brings an inclusive, empathetic, and client-centred approach, helping individuals feel understood, supported, and empowered as they work towards greater emotional wellbeing and resilience.
