Listening beyond the conscious with

Sometimes, understanding something through traditional talk therapy is not enough. Certain emotions are held in the body and in parts of the mind that don’t always respond to logic or conversation. Altered State of Consciousness Therapy (ASCT) is a therapeutic approach designed to help access those deeper layers in a calm, supported, and safe way.

Altered State of Consciousness Therapy, a proprietary method developed by Dr. Raman Sidhu, is based on the neuropsychological principle that access to deeper layers of consciousness requires a regulated, deeply relaxed brain state. In ASCT, clients are guided from Beta brainwave activity into calmer states associated with Alpha and Delta brainwave patterns. In this process, the client remains aware, while the nervous system enters a state of deep safety and reduced defence.

How do you reach the Altered State
of Consciousness?

To support this shift, ASCT uses a combination of carefully guided techniques. These include guided breathwork, progressive deep Yoga Nidra, relaxation protocols, and focused attention exercises that narrow awareness toward internal experience. Sensory modulation, including the use of sound, light, binaural rhythms, and specialised music, further supports this transition.

Clinical Applications

ASCT supports trauma processing, anxiety regulation, depression, chronic pain and addiction by safely accessing deeper patterns. Within ASCT, a technique referred to as Mind Shifting may be used when appropriate. This process helps interrupt entrenched cognitive and emotional patterns held in the subconscious. By accessing these patterns at a level beyond ordinary conscious processing, clients can begin to disengage from repetitive thinking loops, maladaptive schemas, and long-standing behavioural responses, allowing healthier responses to gradually take shape.
